How to manage your email preferences:

Before you can send emails from Resales Online you need to define your company's email settings.  There are 5 options to choose from, we advise you to contact your webmaster to help guide you through the best option for your company.

You will notice on the [Email Preferences] tab that we have rated each option by Delivery Rate and Ease of Setup.

Below is a list of the options available with a detailed description of each option.  Please note that if you use a free email service such as Hotmail, Gmail, etc, you will only be able to use options 1 or 2:


1.  Send from your email address, via OUR Mail Server

This option has a low delivery success rate.  Using this delivery technique; the emails are sent via our Mail Server, and the recipient believes that the email has come from you email server as the email address is your own.  Stronger spam filters can check to see if the email originally came from your email server, and when this fails the spam filter will block the email from being received.


2.  Send from crm@resales-online.com on behalf of your email accountThis option has a low-medium delivery success rate.  The recipient will see the email origin as the following address ‘crm@resales-online.com’, however the email header will look like the following.

If the recipient replies to the email, the reply will be addressed to your email address.



3.  Relay emails through YOUR OWN email server ***

The options below have a high delivery success rate, however require the login credentials for your mail server. For you security we only require your smtp information and we will not accept your credentials if your incoming mail has the same password. To set this up you may require support from your webmaster.

  1. Relay:Send from your email address, via YOUR OWN Mail Server - Send all emails through your Email Server.Send all company emails through a single email account - Send all emails for you company through a single email address eg:  (properties@youragency.com). This delivery technique sends emails by relaying the email through your own mail server. The delivery success rate of your emails sent using this technique is high.** MOST RECOMMENDED ** Send all company emails through a single email account, with on behalf of your email address - This method will send all emails for your company through a single email address e.g (properties@youragency.com).  This method will add on behalf of each users email address.  The recipient will see the email as from the following:  properties@youragency.com on behalf of John Smith and when they reply the email will be addressed to your email address.  This method is recommended because you can create an email address specifically for this purpose, eg: properties@ or sales@ and you will only have to add the mailserver details for that email address and not for your other company email addresses.

4. Individual email accounts per user: ***
This option requires the mailserver login credentials for each user in the company. The emails sent from the system will be relayed through your mailserver and will contain the actual users email address. E.g (John Smith ).  This delivery technique has a high success rate.


*** In option 3 and 4, to better email delivery rate we recommend add an SPF entry on your DNS entries. Please see: SPF records to better email delivery rate


WARNING - ZOHO MAIL SERVERS
Clients relaying emails using a Zoho mail server can only use Option 3.1.3 above - Relay emails through YOUR OWN email server (Send all company emails through a single email account, with on behalf of your email address).
